Island Park
My parents rented a cabin on the gold course in Island Park for our whole family to stay in for a few days. It is always fun to spend time together and let Maddie play with her cousins. Our first day, we took a trip to Mesa Falls. It was pretty hot, but worth the super short hike from the car to the falls.
In the little store/information place, they had skins off all kinds of animals. Maddie was concerned as to why all the animals had to die. She is a softy when it comes to animals.
Notice the sign. Ooops!
After the falls, we took a trip into West Yellowstone for some dinner and a play. My mom bought us tickets to the Playmill Theater, where we saw the live play of, Beauty and the Beast. It was hilarious and the highlight of the trip for Maddie. She loves the princess characters more than anything and has the movie of Beauty and the Beast, so she knew what was going on. She lasted the entire 2 1/2 hour play without any complaints. She was in heaven. Later that night, she informed me that she wanted to do the play and dad could be the beast, she could be Belle and I could be the candlestick.
Saturday we took a trip to explore Yellowstone. We didn't see much wildlife, but did see lots of stinky pots and Old Faithful.
Tacie was the cutest buffalo we saw the whole trip
Maddie and Ty...the best of buddies!
Grandma and the kids
The smell was awesome. Maddie got her first wiff of the stink pots and said out LOUD, "gross, it smells like someone pooped in that water!" On our way out, she walked with my mom and was telling all the people who were walking in how bad it smelled.
We had a picnic lunch when we got to Old Faithful
The famous Old Faithful
Some of the family kept driving to find bears (and were successful) and some of us went on a hike to this waterfall, but I don't even know the name. Here is my sis and her cute kids!
Sunday we packed up and headed home. It was a quick trip, but lots of fun. Thanks for the fun memories mom and dad. It is always good times when we all can be together!
