Jalepeno Ladies

One of the first nights we were in Fort Mcmurray, we had the window open and were laying in bed.  Maddie heard some ladies talking outside of our window in a different language and asked Steve what those people were.  He told her those are filipino ladies.  A week later, she was talking to my mom on the phone and after telling her we lived in the ghetto, we were about the only white people around, she also informed her that the are "jalepeno ladies who talk outside our window at night."  I haven't corrected her since because it is too funny.

This really is a crazy city.  It is bursting at the seams...too many people, not enough space and the closest city from here is Edmonton, which is almost 5 hours away.  We really are the minority here and english doesn’t seem to be the most common language!  It will be an adjustment if we live here for long!
