Father's Day Weekend
We had a GREAT weekend with family.  My sister came from Idaho and brought along a German foreign exchange student, Vetan (called him V) who was staying with her for a few weeks.  They got to my mom's on Friday night.  We just hung out that night and laughed and talked for hours.  Saturday we woke up and Melissa convinced us that we HAD to try Indian food, so we went to lunch at a place called, Taste of India, in Layton where we had some coupons.  My sister and her family love this place, and with all my doubts, it wasn't too bad.  Really expensive (thank goodness for restaurants.com) and not my kind of food, but it was a fun experience.  I actually loved the naan bread and the chicken tikki masala was my favorite of all the foods we tried.

After lunch we headed to the Gateway Mall in SLC.  Vetan loves to shop and was anxious to see this mall.  It happened to be the sidewalk chalk festival for foster care so the streets and stores were packed with people.  The artwork was amazing and we saw lots of people dressed up and even saw, Hagrid, from Harry Potter.  He had to be dying of heat in his trench coat and 90 degree weather.  He did TOWER over me, which was nice because he was probably the only person in the whole place who did lol.  I should have gotten his picture.  Instead, this guy wanted to take some pictures.  I still don't know who he is or what he is from.  But he was camera happy.

Some of the art...these weren't the best ones, but I stole the pictures from my bro-in-law

After Gateway, we drove down to Lehi to meet my grandparents at the Pleasant Grove, Strawberry Days Rodeo.  Vetan hasn't even been to a rodeo, because they don't do that in Germany.  He was highly entertained but mostly amazed at all the pretty girls in booty shorts and cowboy boots.  The rodeo was a blast and Maddie loved all of the events.  She was pretty proud when the steer wrestlers did their thing and I informed her that Steve used to do that in the rodeo.  I wish I would have known him back when he was a rodeo cowboy, it would have been fun to watch him and cheer him on.  We ate the famous strawberries and cream (the cream was ice cream mix before it is frozen poured over sliced strawberries....to die for), did lots of clapping and Maddie did lots of whistling and cheering for the rodeo queens.  It was a great day and great night.
All of us before the grandparents came, they were late as usual!

 Connor and Melissa
Maddie and grams and gramps Bellon.  My grams is Maddie's most favorite person in the entire world.  It is adorable how much she loves her.
Maddie whistling for the queens.  She thinks she whistles, but she actually just hums, it is so funny but super cute.
The mustangs and their babies.

Sunday we went to church, then had the whole family over for dinner (chicken tostadas and cinnamon rolls).  Happy Father's Day to my wonderful dad and Maddie's awesome daddy too.  It was such a fun weekend and we really wish that Steve could have spent it with us.

This is the card Maddie wanted to make the fathers (gramps Bellon, grandpa Stewart, Adam and Steve).  I cut out all the pieces, she glued them on and wrote in them.  Steve will get his in two weeks when we go visit him.
