My niece, the animal lover, came home with a new dog today.  My sister is out of town on a business trip and I am watching her house and kids.  Brianna had a friend whose dad was going to shoot his dog for killing two of their chickens and so he knew if he told Bri, she would take it and find it a home, or convince her parents to keep it for her own.  It is a boxer mix and Maddie is already head over heels for her.  She isn't the cutest dog, but is honestly the sweetest.  She must have had her share of beatings because she is scared of your hand, the broom, a stick and the guitar.  I pulled out the broom to sweep and she cried and hid in the corner.  Poor thing.  She follows Maddie around and lays wherever she is and is her shadow.  Maddie is in heaven.
